Summer in the City

I just got back from disc golfing this morning. Last night I went to a movie with subtitles, an Iranian film. Later today I will take a bicycle ride along the river road that sits above the cliffs cut by the Mississippi River to the U of M campus to see my apartment. A cool breeze drifts in my egress window as it sit in my basement bedroom that I built in my parents’ house. The sound of planes from the nearby airport overwhelms my Beach Boys/The Kinks/The Velvet Underground pandora playlist. I am eating Old Dutch dill pickle chips in a pocket made by my two matching super-soft fleece blankets. This is how life should be. I haven’t had the easiest time lately, but whatever.
This is what I am going to try to do this summer:
- Bonnaroo in two weekends
- Mexico city for KAUST on ~20 july
- Pacific Crest Trail for a week or so in August
- Chicago, Terre Haute, Lexington, West Virginia, Iowa(?), & Boulder
- Work for KGB answering text message questions for 10 cents
- Read what I have not had time to read: fountainhead, grand new party, more, franz kafka, etc
- Marathon Lost in one burst of five seasons
- Drink Cran-Pomegranate juice
- Rediscover the joy of using a trackball
- Live concerts and good films
- Sleep in
