Houston Airport: Why do people care that much about Michael Jackson? My theory is it is gossip – something inevitably human. It is something we can all talk about that is all involved tangentially in our lives. It is fun for the general masses (of which I am a member) to watch people fall from greatness due to fatal flaws. It makes us feel good about ourselves. I think the media obsesses over it because they killed him with redundant coverage of someone who was mentally damaged a bit who was tormented by both a drive to be very private and very public. We have so many problems it is like we all decided to act like Michael and live in a fantasy land. We focus of trivial details while we are hemorrhaging. It is easier to live in delusion that deal with reality. We take the pills and watch the television. 1984 come to life – oh, wait, it was 1982 when Triller was released, around the time Reagan was elected!
